In the economic downturn we’re in, or anytime for that matter, we can never be too sure about our job security. Ideally, employers would always have loyal employees, and employees would have loyal employers. This is not often the case, and the impact on household or business can be devastating. Thus it is a prudent move to always have an escape plan. An alternative to the way you know and live your life. I love what Mint.com does for consumer households. The website offers many budget services, relevant financial planning advice, and much more. I’m not trying to sell anything for them—I’m unaffiliated. I just like them. And I’m not the only one. Many sites are giving them free adverising (such as I am here) simply because they like Mint so much.

There’s nothing else like it. You really ought to consider it no matter how detailed you are with finances. They can help you be better.

Algae is the New Green Fuel

Gasoline production now has a long list of alternative raw materials to replace crude oil. Fuel substances now range a variety of vegetables—all which are used as food sources. Seeing as how these plants have so many great uses, it is a shame to use them for fuel production in light of how little fuel they actually produce. An acre of wheat produces just 277 gallons of fuel—and that’s not taking in consideration the costs it takes to manufacture the wheat alternative fuel. Bottom line: the pupular alternatives to date are just not cut out to replace crude oil as a mass marketed source for power. Continue reading

Time to Get a Grip

So many, in all directions, are ready to freak out this week for all these plaguing conditions we have to drive us to fear. The economy . . . The election . . . The rumor of wars . . . The chaotic Internet . . . who knows. It seems everything is getting to us. No better time then right before we have to fork out lots of moolah to express our holiday cheer, right?

What can I say? There’s no better time in the world like anytime that you are secure in the power of God. I’m a devout Christian, you might say, and if you know what’s really going on in the world (because God has manifested His plan for the ages) then there’s not too much reason to fear in these difficult times.
