Memoirs: Crisis Pregnancy Care Center Video Presentation
It’s not often I have the chance to do a video production on the side that I find worth my time. Many independent video designers will find many opportunities in the summer to make a little money video-recording weddings, but I’ve found that unless you get several of them every year it really isn’t worth you time monetarily. I usually side-step these lesser fulfilling jobs for the slightly more interesting opportunities—either for more money, or fora more meaningful purpose that gives me a sense of accomplishment.
One such case has arisen, and I’m going for it. I’m producing, along with fellow video artists, a presentation to be shown to woman in pro-life care centers. A pro-life care center gives one-on-one time with women to encourage them not to have an abortion based on health concerns (such as the health risks to the woman, and potential future pregnancies) and scientific proof that a pre-born is indeed a living intelligent human being. There are hundreds of these facilities around the world, all run by volunteers, usually in close proximatee to abortion clinics.Usually women go into these organizations planning to get an abortion and come out convinced to reconsider.
So the video I’m making is to be shown to the women as introductory to the reasons not to have the abortion in these professional care centers. It’s roughly 25 minutes in length, and well underway in production. The potential is to get most of the women thinking for themselves over the information they’ve likely never heard of abortion. There’s more than ample material to validate the position that abortion is a highly risky procedure for any woman (especially under 20) and causes health and success risks in future pregnancies.
That being said, I’m not doing this film merely as a study to inform women of their health risks. I am a Christian, and as I read the Bible it is clear that life begins at conception. This is backed by scientific studies. It is a crime punishable by God and man to commit murder, and that is simply what abortion really is. In addition to my position that abortion is simply a detriment to society, me and my wife happen to to be having our first child in August. I thought I’d like to honor the Lord at this special time of my life committing this video to her (my child’s name is Reese) and all future children me and my wife bring into the world.
Abortion is murder. I’d like to address this further soon. For now, I want to note on the production process of the video hopefully to encourage you that something is being done to inform people of the truth. The potential of this video, in the works, is to get it translated into other languages and used around the globe. The material in the video is based off of previous videos of lesser production quality. This may be the first time that a presentation of it’s nature is professionally produced to a standard of quality it deserves. Before I took the job (from Bob Pearson of Arkansas) I wanted to confirm we weren’t producing a video needlessly that had already been produced and circulated for the same purpose. Believe it or not, there wasn’t.
